Silicone Tapes
MIL-I-22444 MIL Spec Silicone Rubber Self Fusing Electrical Tape - Reinforced (Rectangular Profile Only)
Temperature Range: -54°C to +260°C / -65°F to +500°F
MIL-I-22444 silicone tapes are made with the same silicone rubber compounds as tapes meeting A-A-59163 and MIL-I-46852, but also have a fiberglass sinusoidal layer added in the middle of the tape, which provides resistance to elongation - and thereby allows for a specific amount of elongation to be added during installation. This has a number of benefits - it allows for a predictable dielectric, since the variation of elongation possible with the A-A-59163 and MIL-I-46852 tapes during installation is reduced to a known maximum amount, and it also provides some reinforcement of the tape which may be useful in some environments.
All tapes meets 14 CFR 25.853(a) at amendment 25-116; Appendix F, Part I(a)(1)(i) (60 Second Vertical Flammability Test).
Our Mil-I-22444 tapes can be fabricated to meet the following OEM specifications:
