Vulco-Wrap(TM) insulating tape equivalent silicone rubber electrical insulation tape meeting MIL-I-46852, A-A-59163 and MIL-I-22444 specifications.
Vulco-Wrap(TM) self-vulcanizing equivalent tape is used for a variety of critical electrical wiring and cable splicing and protection jobs. Especially suited for aviation and marine environments, as well as outdoor weathering environments.
Vulco-Wrap(TM) equivalent tapes have no adhesive, but sticks to itself (self-fuses or self amalgamating) when stretched and wrapped onto itself. The tapes starts curing within minutes, and after several hours cannot be unwound or removed without using a sharp knife or blade. This tape makes a waterproof, weatherproof and air tight protection.
The 98412 tape is 0.040" thickness at the centerline, The 98512 tape is 0.050" thickness at the centreline. The 18412 tape is 0.040 thick overall and is a reinforced tape. Available in Yellow, Black and Red.
These tapes is also used to wrap hydraulic connections and to make vibration resistant bumpers and spacers for wiring, cable, hose, pipes and lines. Makes an in-situ bushing for protecting wiring at the backshell clamp.
This tape meets 14 CFR 25.853(a) at amendment 25-116; Appendix F, Part I(a)(1)(i) (60 Second Vertical Flammability Test).
